S.Africa to spend more on AIDS, crime and poverty (Reuters)

Cancer death rate down but 565,650 seen in 2008 (Reuters)
Reuters - The U.S. death rate from cancer has
continued a steady decline that began in the early 1990s but it
will still kill a projected 565,650 Americans this year, the
American Cancer Society said on Wednesday.

Breast cancer drugs increase heart risk slightly (Reuters)
Reuters - Aromatase inhibitors, a class
of drugs used to ward off the recurrence of breast cancer after
surgery, increase the risk of cardiovascular disorders slightly
more than does treatment with tamoxifen, a new study shows.

Cancer Death Rates Still Declining (HealthDay)
HealthDay - WEDNESDAY, Feb. 20 (HealthDay News) — Good news continues to
come forth from the cancer front: U.S. death rates from the disease have
declined by 18.4 percent among men and by 10.5 percent among women since
mortality rates first started going down in the early 1990s.
